More Event Information

Get ready for Poochella, the inaugural “People and Pet Friendly” festival in support of Shelby County Humane Society! This event will bring together music, food, spirits and fun and pooches. Poochella will take place on Saturday, June 24, from noon to 5 p.m. at the newly renovated Pavilion of the Oak Mountain Amphitheater, 1000 Amphitheater Road, Pelham, AL 35124.

Poochella will take place from noon to 5 p.m. and will feature performances by Medicine Bus, a band of six that combines high octane rock with funky grooves, and Brendan Young, a Birmingham native whose sound is a perfect balance between old and new country. There will also be paw-some food and drinks, and fun activities for both humans and their fur-bulous friends. This is an event you won't want to miss, especially with an owner/pet “best dressed” contest, a 360 degree photo booth, face painting along with games for the whole family.

Poochella will have everything from dog treats and food for humans from Porky's Pride, El Compa, Kona Ice, Sugar Rush Treats and Treats So Sweet, to clothes for you and your furry friends. Vendors include AIDS Alabama, Blind Dog Biscuit Co., Chambers Realty, Chima Lou’s Closet, Duluth Trading Company, Fuzzy Buttz, Jazzy J Designs and Weiner Brothers Co

The event will also feature an adoption area for rescue animals, where attendees can learn more about adopting and saving the life of a deserving animal. All proceeds from the event will be donated to the Shelby County Humane Society to support its mission of saving animals' lives and promoting responsible pet ownership.
Before Poochella kicks off, attendees can bring their pets to the upper parking lot from 10 a.m. to noon for their necessary vaccinations. For dogs, the clinic will offer Bordetella vaccinations for $10, Rabies for $15, microchips for $20 and Da2ppv for free. For cats, the clinic will offer rabies vaccines for $15, microchips for $20 and Fvrcp for free.

"We are thrilled to launch Poochella and promote the importance of animal welfare and adoption," said Shelby County Humane Society Board President Jackie Hale. "We hope to raise much-needed funds for the shelter and create a fun and memorable experience for animal lovers and their pets."
